"In 2005 I started to paint full time. Figurative work has been an essential part of my artistic life for many years and I have an intense interest in people - finding through drawing and painting their personalities and the effect of their lives on their outward appearance. In a series of drawings titled "1575" - the approximate number of years of life and wisdom of the people whom I had drawn - I tried to show the beauty in old age, which is not often seen. At the present I am working on a series of portraits in oil of people I know in Stratford - exploring who makes up a city."
